Plaice

Pleuronectes platessa

Plaice is one of the most important fish species for Dutch fisheries and is also the most landed fish of the Dutch fishing fleet. Plaice are common in the Atlantic Ocean, North Sea and Baltic Sea, among others. Plaice are mainly caught using the beam trawl technique and the fish are landed fresh several times a week.
